We don't like what we have and don't want to change

Many people feel that we have an immigration problem. What I find surprising is the strong emotional opposition to the current immigration bill in the Senate. People who, like Rep. Tom Tancredo seem to be even more un-American then those who live in the USA illegally. Do we want to overthrow the USA government in order to save it?

I come to that question with the following reasoning:

Evidently we have about 12 million illegal aliens living in our country. Out of those we have a certain percentage that are working in this country. The illegal humans who are working in this country are taking jobs from citizens. Those who are not working are taking up services that should be saved for either citizens or returned to the government for other purposes.

These 12 million people who are "breaking" the law got into the country by de facto illegal means. The current laws or their enforcement is the reason we have this illegal human issue. If you think we should round them up or build a bigger wall, then what we are doing is not good enough.

Now we have our government trying to do something about it. Yet Rep. Tancredo seems to think the new laws would amount to amnesty. Amnesty is unacceptable for law breakers is his motto. Therefore, since the current system is unacceptable as well as changing the system, he must be for something other then the laws of the USA.

Which is worse? A person who is in the USA illegally or one who is here legally but wants to subvert the basis of the government of the USA?

A more peaceful way to look at this is that if you oppose the current immigration reform, you are actually in favor of amnesty for law breakers and for illegal immigration.
